Los Angeles Superior Court (LASC) Re-Opening Update and Fee Change

  • Court Transaction Fee is increasing from $1.75 to $2.25 starting July 1st.
  • LASC plans to re-open, but with many safety measures in place to achieve social distancing.
  • Clerk’s Office will open June 15th.
  • Court rooms will slowly re-open beginning June 22nd, with a plan to be completely open by August.
  • The Dropbox will be permanently available outside of the Clerk’s Office for paper filings.
  • Courtesy Copies are not needed. The court advised any Courtesy Copies should only be for documents that were filed and already scanned into their case management system for any Judicial Officer to view.
  • Individuals needing to speak to a clerk are encouraged to contact the court via telephone.
  • Appointments will be necessary to access in-person courthouse services. The court will provide reservation dates and times available per court. Each reservation has a 15-minute maximum discussion per person.
  • Courtesy Copy and Rejected Documents bins will be available next to the Drop Box. Documents will remain in the bin for 1 week before discarded.
